This new docudrama explores the reign of one man who put an extreme fascist reign in place in a small town in Croatia in the early 20th century — creating a model later used by Mussolini.
Early-20th-century Italian warrior-poet Gabriele D’Annunzio ruled Rijeka, Croatia, with an iron fist. His 16-month reign left such a legacy that current denizens (street-cast in a brilliant montage) are more than a little willing to play-act as his soldiers.
