Silent Movie Day with Wings

We’re celebrating Silent Movie Day this year with the Pittsburgh Silent Film Society and a special screening of Wings! Two young men, one rich, one middle class, both in love with the same woman, become US Air Corps fighter pilots and, eventually, heroic flying aces during World War I. Devoted best friends, their mutual love of the girl eventually threatens their bond.

Local multidisciplinary artist Tara Fay Coleman will introduce these two revolutionary documentaries, which span from Billops’s own complex and nuanced personal life to a broad depiction of the absurd and violent ways in which racism permeates the modern world.

Dinner break is scheduled in.Pittsburgh based YA author Rachael Lippincott (author of Five Feet Apart) will be on site to do a Q&A about her new book Pride and Prejudice and Pittsburgh, and we’ll have $2 slices of pizza available during the intermission!
