This “uncompromising howl in the wind against the notions of good taste” (The Film Stage) is not for the faint of heart. The latest Cannes-awarded work from filmmaker Albert Serra (The Death of Louis XIV) is easily his most provocative yet. Just before the French Revolution, in a forest outside Berlin, a group of bewigged libertines expelled from the court of Louis XVI engage in a series of pansexual games of pain, torture, humiliation, and other Sadean pleasures, attempting to reach some form of erotic nirvana. Set over the course of one night, it is an aesthetically pleasing, yet unsparing depiction of the human drive for corporeal cruelty and sexual release. Blurring the lines between filmgoer and voyeur, LIBERTÉ is a singular cinematic experience about the meaning of sexual and artistic freedom.

After your ticket purchase, you have THREE day to enjoy.
